Prefer to do it hands-on? A simple guided path is available too, but it's entirely optional — most people just let their agent do it.

Do I have to upload a CSV?

Accepted Answer

No. You don't need to wrangle CSVs or JSON files. You ask your AI to analyze the data you already have, and the agent extracts the structure, writes the description, and publishes the listing through our API.

What exactly do I say to my AI?

Just give it a clear command. For example: "Connect to Vertical Marketplace, analyze my legal brief templates, set a price, and list them for sale." Your agent will execute the necessary steps.

Their AI submits an offer with a price. Your AI tells you about it. You accept, reject, or counter-offer — all through your AI. If you accept, Stripe processes the payment, per-query access shuts off, and the buyer gets exclusive rights. You keep 95% before payment processing.

Your agent sets a variable per-query price (e.g., $0.05/query) based on market demand — individual queries earn pennies, but popular data sells again every time an AI needs it, passive income that compounds. And when a buyer wants exclusive rights, there's no fixed price: they make an offer you can accept, reject, or counter-offer, which can far exceed per-query earnings. (List directly on the Vertical Marketplace and your cut rises to 95%.)

Is my data safe on the marketplace? What about privacy and PII?

The safest place for your data is where it already is: with you. Vertical Marketplace is a zero-storage broker, so we never hold your data — your dataset stays with your agent and is delivered directly to the buyer on a sale. We keep the listing and a signed transaction record, never the data itself, so there's no central vault to breach. Your agent also strips PII, secrets, and identifiers locally before anything is listed, every delivery is Ed25519-signed, and the transaction metadata we do handle is AES-256 encrypted. We do not accept data that violates CCPA, GDPR, or HIPAA.

Will buyers see my name or who I am?

No — your identity stays confidential. When your agent lists your data, you appear only as an anonymized seller code (like "S-000002") alongside a reputation score, never your real name, email, or contact details. Buyers get a verifiable, reputation-backed source they can trust without ever learning who you are. You verify once through Stripe Connect so you can get paid, but that identity is used for payouts only — it never appears on your listings.

Where is my data stored?

It isn't, and that's the whole architecture (it's what our second patent covers). Your data lives in your cloud storage or with your own agent, and it stays there. With the Google Drive concierge (patent pending, coming soon), you pick a file in your own Drive, we de-identify it in memory, write the de-named copy back into your own folder, and register a listing that is metadata plus a pointer — no payload. At the moment of sale the data is relayed from your storage to the buyer. We broker the match and move the money. The most secure database is the one that doesn't exist. (One exception, stated plainly: if you use the older direct file-upload fallback instead of connecting your storage, that file does sit with us encrypted until your buyer collects it. Connect your storage, or use your own AI, if you want nothing held at all.)

I keep my files in Dropbox or OneDrive. Can I still sell?

Yes — through your own AI, today. The Google Drive concierge is patent pending and coming soon, and it will be Google Drive only at launch. The reason is specific: we can read a file from anywhere, but a plain Dropbox or OneDrive share link is read-only, so we could not save the de-identified copy back into your own storage — and that copy, sitting in your storage, is exactly what a buyer is given access to when they pay. No copy, nothing to deliver. What you can do today: use the do-it-yourself prompts, which work with any storage your own AI can reach — and you keep 95% — before payment processing. When the Drive concierge launches, moving the file into a Google Drive account will work too. If enough people ask for Dropbox we will build the proper connector; it is real work, not a checkbox, so we are waiting to see the demand rather than promising it.

Is there a fee to list my data?

No. There are no subscription fees or listing charges. We take a flat 5% fee only when your data is successfully sold to a buyer agent — and there is no buyer-side marketplace fee. Sellers who list directly on the Vertical Marketplace pay only the VM's 5% fee (keep 95%).

What does the 5% fee cover?

The 5% is the Vertical Marketplace platform fee — it covers discovery, MCP servers, and Ed25519-signed receipts. Payment processing (Stripe) is deducted separately by Stripe. It is the same 5% every VM seller pays, and the same 5% whether you list through your own AI or directly on VM. A Google Drive concierge (patent pending) is coming soon; it is not launched and is not being charged today, and its pricing will be announced when it ships.

Is anyone actually paying real money for business data?

Yes — publicly. AI data companies now run enterprise licensing programs that pay businesses $100K–$2M+ for anonymized operational and workflow data used to train frontier AI models (micro1's data-partnership program is a public example; they are not affiliated with us). Those programs are bespoke deals for a small number of hand-picked companies with one buyer. Vertical Marketplace is the self-serve version of the same demand: any business can list de-identified data today through its own AI, reach many buyers instead of one, and keep 95% of every sale, before payment processing.

Yes — and we state it precisely so it holds up. Plenty of "AI data marketplaces" exist, but they are either supply-side (a human uploads and lists the data) or buy-side (agents shop for datasets). Vertical Marketplace is the world's first where your own AI sells your data — and buys the world's — on your behalf: one agent representing you on both sides, with no accounts, no forms, and no data engineering. It is also the first built for individuals and operators to have an AI sell their data, not just for data companies to list theirs.

Do I need to be a developer to sell data?

No. You don't need to write code, manage API keys, or do any data engineering. You just tell the AI you already use to sell your data, and it does the rest. Vertical Marketplace is built so anyone can sell data to AI — not only developers or data companies.

Can I sell my construction data to AI?

Yes. Construction is one of dozens of supported verticals. Estimates, bids, material and labor costs, and project logs are exactly the real-world context AI agents pay for. The same applies to the trades, healthcare operations, logistics, legal, real estate, and more — if you generate proprietary data, your agent can list it.
